UCD Smurfit School improved its position from 88th in the world and has a ranking of 75th over three years. President Higgins appoints two women as Supreme Court judges

Two women have been appointed as Supreme Court judges by President Michael D Higgins – Justice Mary Laffoy and Justice Elizabeth Dunne, both former High Court judges. The appointments mean that Chief Justice Susan Denham is no longer the only female judge in the Supreme Court. Eirtech Aviation wins contract with Canada’s WestJet

Irish company Eirtech Aviation has won a contract with Canada’s second largest airline WestJet for the installation and maintenance of advanced warning cabin pressurisation systems. The work will be carried out on WestJet’s Boeing 737 fleet. Eirtech developed a solution to a specific Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) Airworthiness Directive. The directive mandates a further level of warning and awareness for the flight deck crew by improving visual and aural annunciation in the cockpit, which will enable pilots to accurately and safely differentiate between take-off configuration indicators and cabin altitude pressurisation warnings.
