Canadian firm recruiting for 200 positions at Jobs Expo 2012
Canadian engineering firm JV Driver have confirmed that it will be actively recruiting for 200 positions at Jobs Expo 2012, an employment and recruitment fair being held in Dublin’s RDS on Saturday, 12 Sunday, 13 May. JV Driver, who is sponsoring the Engineering Village at Jobs Expo 2012 , is a large industrial construction company, offering a range of services for the oil and gas, forestry, petrochemicals, energy and mining industries. Libya is set to lift its 16-year ban on importing beef from Ireland and other EU countries, according to Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney TD. Ireland’s immigrants and expats offer a viable means of expanding merchandise and service exports from the SME sector, which usually underperforms big business in international trade, a seminar heard today. This was a view put across by Professor Ivan Light, an international expert on migration and enterprise, who believes Ireland is uniquely placed to benefit from migrant entrepreneurship. A new website, launched by InterTradeIreland today, www.footinthedoor.info, will be offering 30 export sales jobs later this year through it’s ACUMEN programme. A further 60 positions will also be on offer through its technology transfer progamme, FUSION. The jobs are located across the island and are open to recent and past graduates, north and south. Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Eamon Gilmore TD is leading an Enterprise Ireland trade mission to Turkey from 8-11 April with the aim of increasing exchanges between the two countries. Twenty-five Irish software, engineering, and internationally traded services companies are going on the trade mission. The delegation will undertake a series of high-level meetings with government Ministries in Ankara together with some business meetings, engagements and networking events in Istanbul.
