Irish accountancy and software company Big Red Book has launched a new cloud-based solution, which will mean the creation of 12 new jobs over the next year.

Hosted on Microsoft’s cloud platform Windows Azure, the new solution is called Big Red Cloud.

Big Red Book’s services are currently used by over 17,000 SMEs in Ireland and the UK. The new service solution enables customers to move all their accounts data to the cloud with the flexibility of adding unlimited users and free access for their accountant.

A recent trial of Big Red Cloud with current Big Red Book subscribers resulted in 36pc of trial participants converting to the cloud within one month.

Marc O’Dwyer, CEO, Big Red Book said: “The Big Red Cloud application is designed to make your accounts even easier to manage and more mobile than ever.  With the ability to login anywhere and on almost any device, the flexibility and accessibility that this product provides makes it more efficient and cost-effective for our customers to do business.

“As a top priority for us, we are committed to implementing the best security practices across our services while our partnership with Microsoft ensures maximum resilience in terms of data back-up.”

Paul Rellis, managing director, Microsoft Ireland said the cloud presented an opportunity for start-up companies to grow internationally very quickly and Big Red Book’s new service offering was a perfect example of how this can be done.
