Ex Paddy Power executive Shane Murphy has been appointed as marketing director with responsibility for EMEA at retargeting platform AdRoll in Dublin.
Murphy spent over three and a half years in a variety of senior marketing roles at Paddy Power, most recently as its head of online acquisition, and has ten years’ experience in total.
Marius Smyth, managing director EMEA at AdRoll, said: “With more than a decade of directly relevant experience during his time in Paddy Power and working in tech marketing in London, Shane is a natural leader with deep knowledge of and experience in marketing and technology across consumer and business markets in Europe.”
Murphy sees this as an “exciting time” in AdRoll’s growth. “Our recently published ‘State of the Industry’ report shows that retargeting is no longer a niche tactic.
“Retargeting is now being incorporated into overall business goals as companies compete to improve their brand awareness and drive growth including sales and customer retention.”
With over 20,000 active advertisers worldwide signed up, the AdRoll platform helps businesses to use their customer data to execute high performance campaigns across platforms and devices.
AdRoll established its EMEA headquarters in Dublin in October 2013. Further to closing a funding round of US$70m in April 2014, it is actively hiring across all functions including sales, account management, business development, finance and marketing to support customers in a number of languages throughout the EMEA region.
Aside from Dublin, the company has offices in London, San Francisco, New York, and Sydney.
