Three new directors appointed to Vhi board

Minister for Health, Dr James Reilly TD has appointed Dr Ambrose McLoughlin, John Melvin and Martin Sisk to the board of Vhi Healthcare for a three year period to 14 March, 2015.

McLoughlin has over 30 years’ experience in health services from practitioner  level to chief executive. He is the registrar and chief executive officer of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) and a former CEO of the North Eastern regional Health Board in Ireland.

Melvin is an engineer with extensive consulting and management experience in the public and private sectors. He was a member of the senior management team in Beaumont Hospital with responsibility for allied health and clinical support services and the development of new hospital services. In 1995 he set up Melvin Consulting, which specialises in change and process management.

Sisk has over 25 years’  regulatory and business related experience covering credit unions, co-operatives, friendly societies, trade unions, building societies, consumer protection enforcement, anti-money laundering, terrorist finance and financial sanctions enforcement. A qualified solicitor, he  currently serves on the board of the Irish League of Credit Unions, where he has been vice president since May 2011.

Bernard Collins, chairman of Vhi Healthcare, welcomed the new appointments. “I believe they will make an important contribution in helping us to build on the cost containment initiatives we have pursued over the last four years, continuing to deliver quality healthcare to our customers and achieving our target of financial regulation with the Central Bank,” he said.
