pTools wins “significant” deal with Canadian law firm

Dublin-headquartered enterprise web content management provider pTools has announced a new contract with Canadian law firm Heenan Blaikie.

While the financial details of the deal have not been disclosed pTools described it as a significant win.

Developed with pTools’ content management software services, Heenan Blaikie’s new website – heenanblaikie.com – delivers detailed lawyer profiles and expertise for its 575 lawyers and professionals worldwide. pTools will assist the law firm’s web-based development, focused on Canada and France.

Founded 40 years ago in Montreal, Heenan Blaikie now has nine offices across Canada, as well as a Paris office and Singapore representative office.

“This overhaul of our website reflects what we have heard from our clients as well as current best practices,” said Heenan Blaikie’s director of marketing and business development, Marie Rémillard. “Our top priority was to make it easy for clients and potential clients alike to find the information they need.”

Robert Bonhomme, the firm’s national co-managing partner, said an effective internet presence is essential to any business today. “Law firms are no exception. We are excited with the changes we have made to improve our web presence.”

This assignment represents a significant endorsement of our investment in web content management software as a service for customers operating across different territories and jurisdictions worldwide,” said Keith Wood, CEO of pTools. “Heenan Blaikie is amongst the most prestigious legal firms in Canada and we are proud to have been selected to work with them. We look forward to helping them continue to enhance their web presence worldwide.”

Key elements of the system include: searchable lawyer profiles segmented by expertise, sector, and experience; dual language French and English content throughout; binder/folder function allowing viewers to capture information and save PDFs; and integration with legal and professional practice management systems.

pTools launched its Web Content Management Software as a Service (SaaS) at the Dublin Web Summit in October and  announced its channel partner programme for North America earlier this year at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
