Kinesense in Dublin receives 620k investmentKernel Capital is leading a €620,000 investment in Kinesense, which has developed CCTV video solutions which are in deployment with police forces and security agencies in Ireland, UK, Europe, Canada and North Africa.

The company was founded in 2009 by Sarah Doyle and Mark Sugrue and currently employs six people in Dublin.

“As the global video surveillance market continues to grow exponentially due to rising concerns for security and safety, the explosive growth in the number of CCTV cameras has meant that the volume of data produced has become almost unmanageable,” Kernel Capital said.

Kinesense specialises in video content analytics (VCA) technology which enables the automatic detection of events in video, allowing law enforcement and security agencies eliminate the time taken to watch and sift through hours of video for key events.

The worldwide CCTV market is predicted to reach US$ 23.5bn by the end of 2014 and Kinesense will use the funds to drive further growth in international markets, according to Kernel Capital.
