Leo Cullen has been appointed a non-executive director of SIFE Ireland (Students in Free Enterprise).

The Irish international and Leinster Rugby captain started his professional career with Leinster, winning the Celtic League, before moving to Leicester to win the EDF Energy Cup and the Guinness Premiership.  He rejoined Leinster to win the Magners League in 2008, before captaining the side to the Heineken Cup in 2009 and 2011.  Cullen became the 100th man to captain Ireland in a full test match when he led the team out against Scotland in August 2011.

Cullen is a graduate of University College Dublin.

In his role as non-executive director of SIFE Ireland, he will be involved in the development and governance of the world’s largest university-based partnership between business and higher education for social change as it establishes a network in Ireland for the first time. Ireland is the 39th country to join SIFE.

Founded in the US in 1975, SIFE is an international, not-for-profit organisation which encourages university students to make a positive difference to their communities, while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders of the future.
