Majella Fitzpatrick has been appointed director of communications with responsibility for corporate reputation, public affairs, internal and external communications and marketing at IBEC.

She will take up the position immediately and also joins IBEC’s executive management team.

Fitzpatrick joins IBEC with 20 years experience in corporate communications and public affairs with some of Ireland’s largest blue chip companies.  Prior to this appointment, she was head of corporate affairs for Telefonica O2 Ireland where she was responsible for public affairs, public relations and corporate responsibility.

Before joining O2, she was head of public relations for Eircom during the initial flotation of the company, the rebranding of Telecom Eireann to Eircom, the sale of Eircell to Vodafone and several ownership transactions.  Prior to Eircom she spent a number of years working with public relations agencies specialising in agribusiness and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG).

Most recently, Fitzpatrick worked on the Leader’s Tour with Enda Kenny where she advised on communications strategy and managed media relations during the election campaign.
