Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson was introduced by Moët & Chandon as its new celebrity spokesperson at its recent ‘Tribute to Cinema’ gala in London.
According to Moët, it is the first champagne house to introduce a Hollywood celebrity ambassador as its face.
Frédéric Cumenal, president of Moët & Chandon, said that Johansson was the brand’s obvious choice as ambassador, because “she, like Moët, has a magical story to tell and makes people dream. She is a true icon of celebration - refreshingly spontaneous, generous, glamorous and she lives life to the fullest both on-screen and off”.
Speaking about the announcement, Caroline Sleiman, market development manager for Moët Hennessy in Ireland, said: “We are delighted that Scarlett was chosen as the Moët & Chandon muse – she is an international star and really embodies the brand values. The new advertising for Moët is really visual and should work well in Ireland as well as internationally.”
The brand is also about to launch an international advertising campaign starring Johansson, which will include print, outdoor and online advertising.
Moët has been the official champagne of the Golden Globes for almost two decades, and the exclusive champagne of the 2009 Oscars®. Moët is also a longtime sponsor of the Deauville American Film Festival in France and the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain.
