This 7,453-yard golf course staged the Irish Open from 2007 to 2009.

Spectacularly situated on the banks of the River Maigue, just seven miles outside Limerick city, Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort is regarded as one of the world’s leading small hotels.
Non-golfers will delight in the old-world charm of the 18th century manor and adjoining spa, which is set in 840 acres of rolling parkland and surrounded by sumptuous, formal gardens.
The real star of the show is the acclaimed 7,453-yard golf course, which was designed by renowned American architect Robert Trent Jones Snr and opened in 1995.
Owners Tom and Judy Kane worked hard to win the right to stage the Irish Open from 2007 to 2009 and were rewarded last year when Padraig Harrington became the first home winner of the title for 25 years.

Of note: The manor has 52 chimneys to commemorate each week of the year, 75 fireplaces and 365 leaded glass windows. The lettered text carved into the front of the south parapet reads: “Except the Lord build the house, then labour is but lost that built it.”
