Seventeenth Maxi Zoo store in Ireland opens in Kildare

Pet retailer Maxi Zoo has opened its seventeenth store in Ireland, in Newbridge Retail Park, Co Kildare, which will create 15 jobs.

Maxi Zoo is part of the Fressnapf Group which is Europe’s largest pet retailer with over 1,295 stores across the region.

The new 8,000 sq ft store in Newbridge is owned and operated by Cork couple Tony and Alice Cross.

Maxi Zoo opened its first Irish store in Ballincollig, Co Cork in 2006 and plans to open a further 15 new stores across the country over the next five years, creating up to 150 new jobs.

With all staff trained to be ‘pet experts’, Maxi Zoo invites people to bring their pet with them while shopping.

Each store also provides a free pet weighing service and regular free demo and information events about how to provide the best care and nutrition for pets.

All 17 Maxi Zoo stores in Ireland support local pet charities.
