A one-stop-shop online for getting 'dolled up'

Anita Whyte and Paul Moran have set up a company called Dolledup.ie, a one-stop-shop online for everything you need to get ‘dolled up’, including make-up and accessories, delivering nationwide.

“We started another company dealing in office supplies called Officegenie.ie when I was made redundant back in 2008. Paul joined the company in 2009 when the business grew and required two full-time staff to keep up with the orders and deliveries,” said Whyte.

“The idea for Dolledup.ie came about as we were meeting women on a daily basis talking about the latest trends, handbags and cosmetics.  A few had said at the time it was a shame we didn’t deliver these as it would save them a lot of hassle.  So we looked into the feasibility of doing this.

“First of all we needed a catchy name, checked to see if we could get the domain name firstly and went about securing it straight away.  We then researched our target demographics and after putting together our business plan we learned this idea was viable.”

The duo researched products, sourced suppliers and then engaged a graphic designer and web developer.

Features of Dolledup.ie

The site, which went live a few weeks ago, has a professional stylist online who will offer tips and advice on how to shop stylishly and wisely and what best suits your body shape.

There’s a novel section called ‘Wish List’ where you browse the selection, add the products you desire to your wish list and it will be sent ‘subtly’ to your partner.

There’s also a section called ‘Beauty Banter’ which offers tips on your skincare, applying make-up, new products on the market and the latest trends.
