Pregnancy & Baby Fair grows since 'Dragons' Den'

Jennifer Shaw and Claire Finnan

Founders of Huggy Bloom Enterprises Claire Finnan and Jennifer Shaw are running the Pregnancy & Baby Fair for the third year, and have this year extended it to Cork.

Finnan and Shaw first came to national attention on RTE’s Dragons Den, where they made history by being the first-ever candidates to secure backing from all five Dragons for this exhibition idea.

Following the success of the first fair in 2010, Huggy Bloom Enterprises bought out all the Dragons. The partners plan to launch Huggy Bloom as a separate company designing and selling baby products in 2013.

The Pregnancy & Baby Fair is taking place in Dublin’s RDS on 14 and 15 April and in Cork’s City Hall and 21 and 22 April.

Around 25,000 people are expected to attend the event in Dublin this year, while 10,000 are expected to turn up in Cork.

Visitors to the far will be able to avail of exclusive discounts and special offers from sponsors and exhibitors including Ikea, Bellababy, Water Babies, Kelkin and Clever Clogs. The number of exhibitors has grown from 80 in the first year to 120 in 2012.

The partners were winners of Best Exhibition Organisers 2011 beating Taste of Dublin/Taste of Christmas and the Ultimate Girls Day Out.
