Cork-based company Tenego Partnering, founded by Donagh Kiernan, has successfully used social media to raise €2,500 for charity.

Kiernan formed Tenego Partnering on May 2nd 2003 to focus on driving sales growth within technology companies, drawing on his 20 years’ experience of technology development, sales and business ownership, investment and management.

Tenego acts as an executive of its client companies, working to make current partners effective and to secure new partners that are ‘best-fit’ to sell their products or services in their target markets.

Kiernan established Vistech Software in 1994, which has become one of the rising stars of Ireland’s technology boom over the past seven years.

During November, Tenego invited customers and associates to participate in a survey. For each person who completed the survey, Tenego donated €10 to charity.

Finally, the company asked people to designate their chosen recipient of the funds and five charities enjoyed a share of the €2,500 split between them.

The five charities nominated and voted for were St Vincent de Paul, The Irish Cancer Society, Marymount Hospice, Barnardos and Temple Street Children’s Hospital which received €600.

“The fund raise was publicised in order to raise awareness in the community of some great charities that we feel should be supported, and hopefully the awareness raised will lead to further donations,” Kiernan said.
