VideoCrisp Ltd, a new cloud-based (SaaS) digital software company based at NovaUCD, is preparing to launch a video creation and editing tool for SMEs and marketing professionals. VideoCrisp, which will be available in March, will allow users to easily and cost effectively create, upload, edit and share their videos.
VideoCrisp, aimed primarily at start-ups and SMEs, will allow users to create new videos or edit existing videos and to embed templates, music, bullet points, photographs, additional video clips without the need of complex and expensive video editing software.
Based at NovaUCD, the Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre at University College Dublin, VideoCrisp was founded in 2011 by entrepreneur Abhinav Chugh. He previously established Waybiz.com, an Enterprise Ireland-funded B2B trust portal, in 2010. VideoCrisp is also a participant on the Enterprise Platform Programme at the Synergy Centre, Institute of Technology, Tallaght.
According to eMarketer (2012) online video advertising spending should jump 40pc to US$3.1bn in 2012. In addition several studies have shown that a website with video content is over 50 times more likely to appear on Google's first search page than a website with no video content.
YouTube, world biggest video hosting site and second biggest search engine after Google, has recently announced that over four billion videos are viewed on its website every day, and 60 hours of new video content is uploaded every minute.
Abhinav Chugh, CEO and founder said: "VideoCrisp will empower start-ups, small businesses and marketing professionals to fully avail of the potential and power of professional videos, in an easy and cost effective manner, to assist them in their sales and marketing activities. We look forward to formally launching VideoCrisp in March."
He added: "At the launch, VideoCrisp will announce details of a cutting-edge technique that will be the first of its kind in the cloud-based video editing industry. This new editing technique will empower end users with amazing video editing capability on both web and mobile."
VideoCrisp has to date raised €100,000 in early-stage funding, including €50,000 from Enterprise Ireland's Competitive Start Fund.
Abhinav Chugh has extensive experience in tech start-ups, IT and online product development. He has previously worked with large multi-national clients such as O2 Ireland, T-Mobile UK, Bell Canada and LVMH Japan.
