The extension of the Luas Red Line (Connolly - Tallaght) from Busáras to The Point is set to open later today.
The line extension will serve the IFSC and the area east of the Royal Canal, finishing up at The Point. Stops will be provided at George's Dock, Mayor Square, Spencer Dock and The Point.
The line will link with the Luas Red Line between the Busárus and Connolly Stops. Journey time from Busáras stop to The Point stop will be approximately seven minutes.
Passenger services are due to start today, 8 December 2009, at around 3pm.
Passengers can travel for free on the extended line from 3pm today until normal services start at 5:30am tomorrow morning.
A number of free events are being offered to mark the opening of the line extension including live entertainment at The Point stop; the Black Raven Pipe Band and Dublin Gospel Choir at the Mayor Square stop; and a vintage tram at Spencer Dock stop.
