Ryanair has announced it is to expand its base at Bologna from March 2010.
The low-fares carrier said today it will base one new aircraft at the Italian airport and open one new route to add to the 23 already in operation.
The new route announced today will serve Malaga. Ryanair is also increasing the number of flights it offers on two existing routes departing from Bologna to London (Stansted) and Ibiza.
Ryanair claimed the expansion would result in a total of 1.5 million passengers being delivered to Bologna, with 1,500 local jobs continuing to be sustained.
