The long-running industrial-relations dispute at Green Isle Foods in Naas, Co Kildare, which saw three workers go out on hunger strike over the dismissal of a number of staff members for alleged misconduct, has ended.
In a joint statement issued today on behalf of Green Isle Foods and the Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union (TEEU) which represents the Green Isle workers, both parties said they had agreed to be bound by the proposals put forward by the independent mediators in the dispute.
“The agreement will be implemented, and accordingly, all forms of industrial action and other activity will cease with immediate effect,” the statement read.
“Both parties will be bound by confidentiality under the terms of the mediation agreement,” it added.
