IBOA to meet Justice Minister over ‘tiger’ kidnappings

12.11.2009
A delegation from the IBOA finance union isdue to meet with the Minister for Justice Dermot Ahern TD today to outline its concerns for improved security protection for financial services staff in light of the recent spate of ‘tiger’ kidnappings.

Led by General Secretary, Larry Broderick, the IBOA team will discuss the outcome of the Minister's meeting with the Garda Siochana and senior executives from the major banks last week.

The IBOA will also take the opportunity to convey a number of practical concerns which have been expressed by its members in recent weeks.

The phrase ‘tiger’ kidnapping comes from how the criminals mimic tigers by stalking their victims before carrying out the abduction.
