A stuffed Trigger, the horse belonging to the actor and singer Roy Rogers, has sold for US$266,500 at auction run by Christie’s.
Christie’s said that the sale of a collection of over 300 items belonging to Rogers and his wife Dale Evans in New York city raised just under US$3m.
Trigger, a golden palomino which starred in The Roy Rogers Show and over one hundred movies, was stuffed after his death in the Sixties. He was bought by the rural US television channel RFD-TV, which also bought Roger’s stuffed German Shepherd Bullet for US$35,000.
Meanwhile Trigger’s saddle sold to a private buyer for US$386,500.
