An Irish technology company has been selected as a finalist in the Innovate! 2010 global competition, and is now in the running to share in a sponsorship prize of US$1m.
Nvolve Limited, which supplies mobile and distributed workforce services to SMEs, is one of 100 finalists chosen for the global competition which is organised by the Guidewire Group, with sponsorship from Microsoft BizSpark, Cisco, HP, IBM, Motorola, Paypal, SAP, Verizon and Bing.
The Innovate! 2010 competition aims to identify and accelerate the world’s 100 top technology, media and telecommunications start-ups.
The competition allows government agencies, professional services providers, technology and telecommunications vendors and technology scouts to engage hundreds of highly vetted, fast-growing start-ups face-to-face.
From March to July 2010, qualifying finalists will be invited to participate in one of 20 Pitch Slams in technology centres throughout the US and Europe, with virtual pitch slams for those who cannot attend in person. The start-ups get 15 minutes to impress the judges with their business and its potential. They will also be pitching to a local audience of investors, partners, other entrepreneurs and the media.
Barry Harper, CEO of Nvolve, said he was honoured to be part of such a global competition and is “eager to proceed to the next level”.
Nvolve’s SME technology offering includes services such as remote desktop connector, teleconferencing, web conferencing, online workspaces, learning and knowledge services and performance management services.
